Ingredients to AVOID in Cosmetics are similar to those in nail polish, the list below will be regarding some additional toxins and the reasons why we find them harmful. Coal Tar Dyes - May contain aluminum & heavy metals, also classified as a human carcinogen.
Dibutyl Phthalate - Manufactured chemical that is odorless, yellow in color, used in making plastics flexible.
Parabens - Potentially harmful chemical compound of para-hydroxybenzoic acid used as a preservative.
Parfum/Fragrance - Can cause skin, eye, lung irritation, the words listed reveal unlisted chemicals such as diethyl phthalate.
PEG Compounds - Chemicals that contain various impurities that increase the risk of cancers. Impurities could include lead, arsenic and iron among others.
Siloxane - D4 & D5, Chemicals similar to silicone that resist degradation, travel easily through the air and accumulate in the body, they are linked to reproductive damage and tumors.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate - Undiluted it is an irritant, often contaminated with dioxane which is possibly carcinogenic which may cause issues in liver, kidneys & the central nervous system.
Triclosan - Linked to hormone disruption & increased risk of breast cancer, it is bi0accumulative in the body and does not break down in the environment. It has shown up in blood and breast milk.
Cocamide DEA, MEA, TEA - Hormone disrupting chemicals that may form cancer causing agents, linked to miscarriage and inhibiting fetal brain development. Possible evidence that when mixed with other items on the skin it becomes carcinogenic.
